About Julia
Julia Lehman-McTigue, a photographer for 20 years, feels her success is not only the beautiful images created, but also by the strong connections she forms with her clients and models. Combining her photojournalistic and artistic style, she unobtrusively enters the moment with a connected presence that sensitively captures images of spirit and beauty.
Julia graduated top in her class in March 1996 from the Art Institute of Philadelphia. Her experience helped her land the position of staff photographer for the Philadelphia City Paper where she was honored with the 1998 Society for Professional Journalists Award, as well as, the 1998 Keystone State Award for Photojournalism. Julia’s fine art has been displayed and sold in many gallery shows in the greater Philadelphia and New York area. Her work has also been exhibited at Perkins Art Center, Moorestown, NJ, and has won the Elizabeth Shuman Award at Phillips Mill Photographic Juried Exhibition in New Hope, PA. Since 2005-2010, Julia has been exhibiting her works in multiple galleries including a solo exhibition at Photo 612, titled, Octopuses, Goddesses and Other Mystical Beings. Other shows included, a juried exhibition by the photo review at the Muse Gallery, Escape to the Underwater Woods, at Photo West Gallery, the Kandy Project, at Lumeria Gallery and most recent a juried show at Highwire Gallery. Julia’s passions for spirituality and photography merge to form her distinct documentary style in fine art, capturing human, natural and cultural spirit on film.
